Located high on a bluff on the edge of Colorado’s largest natural lake, neighboring Rocky Mountain National Park, this home reveals how materials can tell the story of passing time and the importance of place. Its traditional design took into consideration the historic cabins indicative of the lake as well as the rocky landscape. Reclaimed timber siding was hand-selected for its time-stamped endurance and local stone for its Rocky Mountain signature. And much attention was paid to the terracing landscape, naturally ascending from shore to door. Completed in 2017, this home stands as it would have many decades ago.
